Ahh I love oatmeal. I love mostly plain good quality oatmeal. The kids, not so much. So I've come up with a pretty good balance between the two. It's not as healthy as good quality mostly plain oatmeal it's certainly better than average pancakes.
We have a lot of hungry mouthes to feed so if you're feeding less than 6 people you'll need to scale it your needs.
3 cups of water
2 cups of milk
2 cups of rolled oats
1/2 stick of butter
1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Set the oats to the side and combine everything into a pot and bring to boil.
Add oats and summer till thicken
Serve in bowls by putting a very light line of cream around the edge, a sprinkle of brown sugar, and a tiny pad of butter on top.
Simple, tasty, and filling. 😋
